To celebrate our eighth Anniversary and being finalists in an unprecedented four categories in this year’s Hertfordshire Life Food and Drinks Awards, we will be hosting our first pop up wine bar and tapas evening on Friday, 28 July 2017.
We will be offering a fresh supper plate of Spanish inspired delicacies, including olives, Spanish omelette, tomato and garlic bruschetta, Parma ham skewer and chef’s surprise – price £9.95 per head excluding drinks. To compliment the food, we have specially selected a range of wines and beers for your enjoyment. We will also be reserving the outside area (weather permitting) for those who just want to enjoy a bottle of wine, cava or beer.
We have limited availability, and are taking bookings for two sittings – 6.30pm to 7pm and 8pm – 8.30pm. If you wish to make a booking and reserve your table, please message us on Facebook (Brewery Tearooms) or contact us on 01438 861930 and speak to Sarah.
We are excited to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalist in four categories (best Cafe/Tearoom, Service to the Community, Best Customer Service and Food Hero) in this year’s Hertfordshire Life Food and Drinks awards. Unbeknown to us at the time, a lot of you have voted for us resulting in this amazing recognition. So a big thanks to all of you who support us.
We are pleased to have reached the finals and will be attending the awards ceremony in late July. Watch this space…..
As most of you know, the unseen heart of the business is Sarah’s Mum. She bakes tirelessly every day and is a simply amazing inspiration. Our challenge now is to get her to the awards night!

Wishing a Happy New Year to all our friends and customers. It was a momentous year for the Tearooms, collecting a second award in November. This time for ‘Outstanding Customer Service’, which you can read all about in the current edition of Hertfordshire Life. The picture above was taken on a night out celebrating our win and you will see our certificate and plate proudly adorning our wall when you next come and visit.
The Christmas cobwebs and pine-needles have all been swept away and our coffee machine is polished and ready to get to work. Our team are all looking forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 24 January, just a couple of weeks before Valentine’s Day (booking details to follow). The Brewery kitchen is already in the swing of things, testing out some new winter-warming soup recipes, along with our favourite home-made cakes and scones. Sarah and the shop fairies are currently busy at work, re-stocking our pretty gift shop and sourcing new ranges for the forthcoming Spring season.
Thank you to everyone who helped us raise lots of money for charity in our Christmas raffle and by supporting our lovely festive carol service. Together we raised over £1,100,.oo which we are delighted to donate to Cancer Hair Care to help children and teenagers fighting cancer. Once again, the wonderful Stevenage Community Choir came along on the 22nd December and provided a fantastic carol service, all so generously donating their time.
We look forward to offering you a warm welcome in 2017.
Sarah, Nigel and all the Brewery team X
